Show EUREKA MAN IS BIGAMIST ' BRIGHAM CITY, Oct. 8. In tbe case of the state of Utah vs. Victor; X. JI end rick sen, which was tried before be-fore Judge M. C. Harris and a jury in the district court in this city on Monday, the defendant was convicted con-victed of the crime of polygamy, a felony, and sentenced to an indeterminate inde-terminate term in tbe state prison not to exceed five, years. Tbe crime charged is generally known throughout through-out of the country as bigamy, but in this state the statutes call it : polygamy. Henricksen claims Eureka as bis home, and the prosecution arose out of his nuirrage in Brigham City a few weeks ago to Mrs. Minnie Der Fries, j who also is a resident of Eureka while bis wife, Mrs. Cort X. Ilendricksen was alive and un-divorced. un-divorced. ' Mrs. Ilendricksen, the complaining complain-ing witness, came here from Santa Ana, Calif., to testify at the preliminary pre-liminary bearing and at the tria yesterday. |
