Show Permanent Fair Grounds ! '' Now that another annual Utah County Fair has been ; completed successfully, the county commission should begin :' to take steps for the securing of county fair grounds and proper buildings for the housing of future fairs. 1 The county fair is an established institution in Utah county. It has been in existence during the past three years : and in that time has proven its worth beyond a doubt. The first year the exhibit was housed in the Armory. The second I year the incompleted city and county building served as its home, while the last and most pretentious exhibit was ar-,; ar-,; ranged in the spacious storage room of the Schofield Auto company and adjoining buildings and tents. Where shall the fourth annual fair be held? That was a 1 question propounded repeatedly by many of the thousands of : ' visitors attending the recent exhibits. The popular opinion I seems to prevail that a permanent home for the annual exhi-1 exhi-1 J bitions should be secured in time for next year. Undoubtedly the Provo city commission will be willing 1 to cooperate with the county commission in the selection and i the purchasing of a site for the fair grounds. It will not be necessary to construct all buildings at once. A little can be accomplished each year until in time all the needed buildings ' will be constructed. ; i The important thing at this time, however, is to get , possession of the ground and begin planning the construction , of a building for the main exhibition in time for the 1926 fair. Plans must be drawn and approved long before the ; actual construction work begins. It will be too late to do all of these things next August. Utah county needs a permanent fair ground. |
