Show Expression of Appreciation and Esteem Dr. Charles Hardy Carroll ot Ilrighaai Yomic university passed frmu mortality to immortality. September 30, 1825. Tbe lust hours of bis illness and suffering were tbe cause of deep anxiety in tbe school and bis demise brought sorrow to his friends and co-workers, but a sorrow raised to sublimity by faitb and glorious hope. He was a man simple in bis habits, honest and straight-forward in bis actions, and faithful in the discbarge of duty. His life was characterized by persistent struggle for things having value; such things once gained were freely und without mercenary thought used in the service o; bis fellow man. As a teacher he was earnest and energetic, and manifested a determination to make truth impressive ; as a phy-sician, phy-sician, he was progressive, and devoted pis best energies to tht welfare of humanity. To bis friends and associates be was true and loyal, and stood always ready to serve them. For his earnestness, for his devotion to duty, for bis staunch friendship, his fellow workers loved him and will bold sacred his memory.
