Show SPRINGVILLE CANNERY SOLD TO S. L FIRM The Springvillc Canning factory will be under new management this year, according to Myron E. Cran-dall, Cran-dall, former superintendent. The concern has been sold to W. R. Ed-dington, Ed-dington, former superintendent of the Morgan Canning factory, and J. J. Cannon and company of Salt Lake. Mr. Eddington, who will be the new manager, met with the farmers farm-ers of Springville- and Mapleton Monday night to determine the sentiment sen-timent in regards to raising the acreage necessary to run the factory. fac-tory. A number of farmeVs signed contracts at the meeting; all seemed seem-ed anxious to cooperate with the new management. The' importance of a bigger payroll pay-roll in Springville and the necessity neces-sity of an industry to handle the farm products were t'mphasized by J. J. Cannon of Salt Lake, Bishop Bish-op R. L. Mendenhall of Mapleton, O. R. Maycock, John S. Boyer, M. E. Crandall and other interested citizens. The acreage asked for by the ne'w 150 acres tomatoes, 100 acres of beans. Each farmer in the community com-munity will be visite'J soon, according accord-ing to S. L. Boyer, president of the farm bureau and asked to sign contracts con-tracts to ral3e the required crops. Contracts will be out this vee'lv according to Mr. E-ddington, for 350 acres of peas, 150 of tomatoes and 100 of beans, the acreage required to run the new factory. Mr. Crandall, it is announced, has disposed of his 'holdings because of ill health. |
