Show Springville, Mapleton VBBA dobs enter Grantsville tournament Sage Creek all-stars won their playoff with the Tooele American all-stars last Saturday Satur-day at American Fork in a spine tingling tussle 1-0. Three outstanding plays or players contributed greatly to the team's victory in the game. One was the quick thinking and acting of Pete Peterson when he chose to keep the runner from scoring on a throw to home instead of first base. Jay Boyer took the throw and tagged the runner out, thus preventing a score. Another highlight of the game was the accurate throwing throw-ing of Tom Cherrington from out in center field which prevented pre-vented runners from getting in scoring position. Finally, the outstanding pitching of Stewart Hamilton in chucking a shutout game was equally vital. The entire team, too, should be credited with heads-up ball playing. Sage Creek's score came in the fourth inning on a sacrifice sacri-fice of Hamilton's. He popped up and Tom Daniels came running run-ning in after the catch. Tourney began Wed.
