Show ,-i . . ' ' ' ' ' ' : '. t Mrs. Eliza B. Hales of Spanish Span-ish Fork, mother of Spr'uig-ville Spr'uig-ville people, passed away at age 94. Services held for mother of local people Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Spanish Fork Stakehouse for Mrs. Sarah Ann Eliza Brockbank Hales, 94, oldest resident of 1 that city and mother of G. Ray Hales, Mrs. Milton (Leah) Harrison and Mrs. Victor (Mary) Frandsen of Spring-ville. Spring-ville. She passed away Sunday at the family home 111 East, 100 North, Spanish Fork. Burial was in the Spanish Fork city cemetery. A native of Spanish Fork, Mrs. Hales had been prominent promin-ent in church and civic work for many years including Relief Re-lief Society president 14 years and a visiting teacher 70 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary at Spanish Fork, having been the first Gold Star mother there in World War I. She served a term as state chaplain of the Legion Auxiliary. She was named mother of the year by Nebo First District Dist-rict UFWC in 1955. For many years she had been active in DUP work. Mrs. Hales had visited in Springville often and made many friends. Her husband, George Hales, died in July 1947.
