Show Mapleton artist exhibits work at City Hall beqinning Monday ' - "-, : !, " ' - t : ;.' ' J f - it 1 X A Mapleton artist, Mrs. Freeman (Eva M.) Bird, will have her paintings on display for a month, beginning Monday, Mon-day, April 15, at the City Hall, announces Mrs. A. C. Chader, president of the Hafen-Dallin club. Townspeople are invited to see the pictures which will adorn the walls of the Council Coun-cil room. The exhibit which will comprise com-prise between 15 and 20 pictures, pic-tures, is another in a series of one-man shows featuring the works of Springville artists. The pictures hang in the Council room for a month. Mrs. Bird has painted for some 15 years just as a hobby, hob-by, she states. She has been affiliated with a group , of Springville women who have studied with various local ar tists and took numerous trips about the area to paint. Some of her teachers have been Professor Pro-fessor Glen Turner, Richard Gunn, Stanley Burningham, Oliver Parson, Rell Francis andMaynard Dixon Stewart, son of LeConte Stewart. She has exhibited her paintings paint-ings in Provo, Tooele and in art exhibits of Springville artists ar-tists at the local art gallery. Neil Johnson, son of Mr. and ; Mrs. Eugene Johnson, of this city, has one of the ' lead roles in the Snow College play, "Blood, Sweat and Stanley Poole," it was announced this week. The play is being presented pre-sented April 18, 19, and 20, in the college auditorium. Neil takes the part of Lieutenant Poole. Mrs. Freeman (Eva M.)
