Show Scout advancements given at court of honor held Vednesday Hobble Creek District Court of Honor was held in the new First-Twelfth Ward last Wed. night with the First Ward Troop 63 hosting the event, under the leadership of Scout- master, Byron Cottam. Nine troops participated with attendance totaling 210 Scouts and parents. Troop 65, with John Perkins, Scoutmaster, Scoutmas-ter, retained the trophy won the month previously. Troop 126, Parry Harrison, Scoutmaster Scout-master of the Mapleton 2nd Ward, took second place. Third place was garnered by the Sixth Ward, Troop 68, under the leadership of Robert Strong. A total of 98 Scouts received 125 merit badges. Second class awards went to Lewellyn Colby, Col-by, Troop 129; Kenneth Hulce, Troop 121; Dan Haymond, Troop 69; Thomas Barrett, Steven Lynn, Marcel Whiting, Troop 68. First class: Douglas Martin, Robert Robinson, 126; Steven Robins, LeRoy Miller, Steven Cain, 65; Jay Colby, 129; Richard Rich-ard Tolley, Kent Erickson, 64; Richard Frandsen, Allen Willis, Wil-lis, Mike Jones, 68. Star awards: Gaylon Spencer, Spen-cer, Brad Walker, Don Hjorth, Douglas Leavitt, John West-wood, West-wood, Larry Bennett, 126. Life badges: Grant Hatch, 63; Avery Bishop, 68; David Whiting, Stephen Hall, 126. Bronze Palm was presented to Earl Demson, 121. The coveted cov-eted Eagle badge was presented pre-sented to Floyd Thorn from Troop 65 by Leo Felix. The next court of honor will be held in the Twelfth Ward, May 1st, with Troop 129 as host. |
