Show Explorers save f stamps to buy equipment ( Explorer post 69 of the Ninth Ward comprised of 20 young men, have made an en- viable record in scout activity winning among other things, all church recognition.; The boys are now trying to secure 2-way radios and other equip- ment to supplement their training, according to Advisor Richard Peterson. To secure the needed equip- ment, the boys have devised methods of saving Gold Strike stamps and have placed boxes in two business houses for con- tributions of stamps. Also their parents are helping them as well as other members of I their ward, who are donating 1 the Gold Strike Stamps. Oth- ers who desire to help are asked to contact any of the j boys or the advisor. j All boys in the post have j had First Aid training and on- j ly recently had the opportun- j ity to put this training into j actual use at the time of a traffic accident. They were j en credit for saving a man's j life.1 The post will participate in j a Scouteree in Provo, April 20, being billed as one of the top participants. They recently won first place in the merit badge division contest. Proceeds from the Scouteree will be used to build a swimming swim-ming pool at Maple Dell and the boys will help sell tickets for the Scouteree event. |
