Show Improved phone service scheduled for Mapleton Preparations are under way to provide urban-type telephone tele-phone service for residents in Mapleton and the southeast portion of Springville in the vicinity of Canyon Drive, this summer, according to Ross B. Jenson, local manager for the Mountain States Telephone. This announcement came dur ing the Mapleton city council meeting, Monday night. Private line and two-party service will replace the present pres-ent rural lines in areas as far east as the Strawberry Canal and as far south as 400 South, Mapleton. "This action, which represents a sizable investment, invest-ment, comes in response to popular demand for this type of service expressed by Mapleton Maple-ton people," Mr. Jenson said. During May, a company rep- resentative will contact Maple-ton Maple-ton residents to explain the details de-tails of the forthcoming change and discuss the telephone requirements re-quirements for each family. Construction crews have be- gun extending additional underground un-derground and aerial cable from the Springville central office as a preliminary step in this project. Additional facilities facili-ties are also being added in the Springville building to accommodate ac-commodate the new lines. Installer In-staller visits to the home during dur-ing July and August will complete com-plete the project. |
