Funeral rites held for Mapleton man Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Wednesday afternoon, in the Mapleton ward chapel, fofr Parley Pratt Perry, 86, a former well-known resident, who died Sunday morning at Sunset Manor, of ailments in-cideh.t in-cideh.t to age. Bishop Stewart Whiting of the Mapleton First ward, conducted con-ducted the services. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery, directed di-rected by Wheeler Mortuary. Mr. Perry was born Nov. 5, 1875 in Springville to Stephen and Mary Boggs Perry. He married Ardilla Gallup on Sept. 8, 1897, in the Manti Temple. She died in 1958. Mr. Perry moved to Mapleton when he was two years old and had made his home there since that time. . He followed farming. He served as town marshal for a number of years, was on the Mapleton Town Board for five years and served on the Mapleton Board of Education. Surviving are three sons and two daughters, James Perry, Salt Lake City; Lewis R. Perry Per-ry and Bernell Perry, Provo; Mrs. Bert (Marva) Taylor, Springville, and Mrs. A. M. (Inez) Rudolph, Burley, Idaho; 17 grandchildren; 32 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; one brother, Horace Ho-race Perry, Mapleton. |
