Wedding Effan Bee Club At Christmas Party Phyllis Nielson and Beth Prothero were hostesses at the Nielson home Thursday even-ing at a Christmas party for members of the Effan Bee club. A delicious hot dinner was served early to sixteen club members. Later from a unique fish pond, fashioned by Presi-dent Lucille Turner, the mem-bers fished for Christmas pre-sents. Donald is a son of Mrs. Helen C. Smith of Ohio and Emerson C. Smith of Hawaii. The bride-ele- ct returned from an LDS mission in Haw-aii last June, and has since been employed as a laboratory technician at Inglewood, Calif. Mr. Smith also filled an LDS mission returning in February. The couple plan to make their home in Inglewood where a reception will be given them upon their return. Mr. and Mrs. Nebeker will also give a reception in their honor at the. family residence after the marriage. Miss Nebeker is being married on the sixth anniversary date of the marriage of her brother Leon. Camp Kolob Has Husbands at Party Camp Kolob DUP and their husbands were entertained at a Christmas party Thursday evening of last week in con-nection with their meeting, at the home of Capt. Florence Boyer. Nancy Adams entertained with piano selections during the evening and the group sang Christmas carols. Mrs. Edith Clayton gave the lesson for the month on, "It Happen-ed in the Valley." Later games were enjoyed under direction of Mrs. Lula Shepherd. Lunch was served at the close of the evening to twenty-fiv- e members and guests. Mr., Mrs. James L Chase Will Be Honored at Open House Saturday Miss Bonnie Burrows, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert C. Burrows, became the bride of James Layton Chase Monday December 21. The groom is the son of Miner u. Chase of Anchorage, Alaska, a former resident of Springville. For the occa-sion, the bride chose an ex-quisite gown of nylon lace de-signed with tiers on the floor-lengt-h skirt and an all-la-jacket with long pointed sleev-es. She carried a bouquet of red rose-bud- s. Attending her as matron of honor was her sister, Mrs. Eva Lue Nielson, while Donna Dal-li- n and Marian and Enid Bur-rows were bridesmaids. Complimenting the couple, an Open House is being given Saturday evening December 26, from 7:30 to 10 p.m., at the Burrows home, 92 North 3rd West, to which all relatives and friends of the couple are being invited. The couple will leave soon after the Open House, to make their home at Ephraim, where Mr. Chase will enroll at Snow College majoring in sociology. After a delicious pot-luc- k supper, games were played and gifts were' exchanged among the following: Dorothy L. Johnson of Span-ish Fork; Shirley Brailsford of Orem; Enid E. Jolley of Orem; Evelyn R. Robbins, Vera B. Stokes, Norma R. Jenkins, RaNae A. Snyder, Carol Bar-tholomew, Larraine Savage, Jo-sephine E. Tolley and the hos-tess. Christmas Party Enjoyed by Club The lovely new home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Finley was the scene of the annual Christ-mas party for Mothers Study club members Friday evening of last week. Mrs. Finley was assisted by Mrs. Hattie Wil-liams. Mrs. Minnie Groesbeck and Mrs. Gertrude Sumsion were special guests. Christmas favors decorated each luncheon tray and other holiday motifs added to the attractive setting. President Gwen Tippetts read a Christmas prayer and also reported on the Christmas pro-gram for men patients at the State Hospital. She thanked those who had participated and stated .that other projects would follow including clothing and an organ for the hospital. Mrs. Harvey Robbins led in singing Christmas carols and Mrs. Grace Crandall reported on the Legislative .Council meetine. A highlight of the evening was the story, "Grandma's Last Christmas," by Eva Ivie Botte-so-given by Mrs. Floss Phil-lips. Gifts were exchanged among the group as they sat around the fireplace and the president announced the next meeting to be on January 8, at the home of Mrs. Grace Crandall.
