Show Former Mapleton Girl Wed in Temple Ceremony Adding her name to the list of December brides was Miss Venetta MacRley of Provo, formerly for-merly of Mapleton, who was married to William H. Cooper Friday in the Salt Lake Temple. Tem-ple. Venetta is the attractive daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Mackley of Provo and William is the son of Mrs. Annie Cooper of Dogandale, Nevada. A reception was held for them Friday evening in the East Provo Stake House where the bride met her many friends and relatives, in a brocade gown fashioned of material she had brought from Japan when she was employed in government govern-ment service there. Designed by herself it featured fea-tured a princess style and a jacket effect on the bodice. It had a stand up collar with tiny buttons down the front, and the sleeves tapered to a point at the wrist. Her fitted bridal cap embroidered em-broidered with sequins held her fingertip veil of bridal illusion. Her bouquet was of white orchids or-chids with red roses. Her mother was becomingly gowned in blue velvet while Mrs. Cooper chose dusty rose. Bridesmaids were gowned in red velvet sheath dresses and carried nosegays of red and white carnations. Mrs. Ronald Mackley was matron of honor; and bridesmaids were Mrs. Jim Williams, Mrs. Robert Nes-bit Nes-bit and Sharon Clark. The duties of best man were performed by Ted Shurtliff of Overton, Nevada. Presiding at the guest book was Mrs. Lewis Harmer. Arranging Ar-ranging gifts were Jean Pug-mire, Pug-mire, Joyce 'Bailey arid Barbara Bar-bara Allan. Acting as hostess was Mrs. Ennie Woffinden who was assisted as-sisted by Tonya Mackley, Sharon Shar-on Ellis, Linda Harmer, Ran-etta Ran-etta Loveless and Lorna Hanks. After a honeymoon trip to California, the newlyweds will be at home in Logandale, Nev., where William has a business of his own. Venetta is a graduate of the Springville high school and the Brigham Young University. She was secretary for the U. S. Government in Japan for two years and has been teaching teach-ing in the Park School in Spanish Fork during the cur- rent year. Mr. Cooper 'is a graduate from Moapa Valley high school, Overton, Nevada and fulfilled a two year mission in the Spanish American LDS Mission Field. |
