Show Duke Jewelry Bowling Meet Opens Here Fri. The eighth annual Duke Jewelry Handicap Bowling Classic will be held this week at the Art City Lanes, Fri., Feb. 7, Sat., 8th, and Sun., 9th. The entries are at this time apparently ahead in numbers to any of the previous years which is a good indication that Utah County bowlers will participate par-ticipate in mass. The Duke Jewelry Tournament Tourna-ment is sponsored annually by J. Melvin Duke, owner of Duke Jewelry in Springviiie. This years prizes offered by Mr. Duke will include three fine wristwatches as well as a fine trophy for the highest scratch score of the meet. Six games will be rolled over six lanes for the qualifying series and the twelve highest scoring bowlers and two alternates alter-nates will meet in a six game match Sun. at 7:30 for the finals. Usually one of the high points of the meet each year is the open challenge afforded by the previous year's winner against the current years entries, en-tries, however, Mr. Harrison Conover, winner last year, will be unable to defend his title this year since he will not participate par-ticipate in this year's activities. activi-ties.
