Show Special Oasses Available to Student at Home There is a service available to students who on account of illness, must miss school longer than three days and this service ser-vice is free with no obligation on the part of the parents. In most cases this special instruction instruc-tion makes it possible for the student to stay up with his class without loss of credit. When a boy or girl is absent from school longer than three days it is to be reported by the teacher to the principal, who in turn notifies the special instructor, Mrs. Jessie A. Whitney Whit-ney and she gets the student's books, papers and other material, mater-ial, takes it to his home and gives him special instruction. However, where the child is too ill to receive the instruction, instruc-tion, his doctor will inform the parents and instruction will not be given until he is able, to receive re-ceive it. In cases where the proper procedure has not been followed, follow-ed, parents are asked to take the responsibility themselves of notifying the special instructor of the child's need for school work at home and she will then make arrangements immediately immediate-ly to visit the home. There is no material advantage advan-tage to Mrs. Whitney in visiting visit-ing students unable to attend school. She is paid the same regardless of the number who take advantage of the service. It is therefor to the advantage of the student, the parents and the teachers that he keep up with other members of his class. |
