Show MARINES WINNERS IN ALL-RIFLE EVENTS SEAGIRT, N. X, Sept. 5. The marines finished first in all five events of the national shooting matches today, winning the McAlpin, Dryden and Sadler trophy team matches and the Roe and Rogers individual matches. The second team scored a . total of 1114 in the MeAlpin match. Second place went to the first team with 1000; third, army, 10S7. In the Dryden. the marines tallied 1122. The American expeditionary force team was second with 10S7; third, cavalry 1034; fourth, Philippine scouts, 1034. The Sadler team event went to the marines with a total of 1716; second, American expeditionary force, 1700: third, cavalry, 1659; fourth, infantry, 1651; fifth' Philippine scouts, 1605. Private Roy Moore of the marines took the Rogers match at 600 vards with a 96. Lieutenant Claude Thompson of the marines won the Roe match with 97 out of a possible 100. |
