Show II AM OFFICER TO SPEAKAT OIIEU Brigadier-General Charles E. Stanton to Address Bonneville Club. Brigadier-General Charles Ei. Stanton, at one time prominent in the civic life of Salt Lake, more recently with the American expeditionary force in France, will speak before the Bonneville club at an early date next week. General Stanton Stan-ton has written to members of the executive ex-ecutive committee that he will be here early next week, and the committee will meet tomorrow to formulate final plans for the dinner. General Stanton began his military experience ex-perience as a. paymaster during the Spanish -American war, and in 1901 received re-ceived a permanent appointment in the regular establishment. Prior to that time he had played an active part in the politics of the city and state and held several offices at various times. It has been said of General Stanton that he is a man vigorous in thought and action, a good talker, who uses crisp and pointed sentences. General Stanton probably prob-ably will talk about various sidelights on the war which he received in his overseas service. Major-General Leonard Wood is another an-other American soldier who will appear before the Bonneville club this fall. General Gen-eral Wood recently informed Glen Miller, Mil-ler, who was in the east, that he would be delighted to speak before the Bonneville Bonne-ville club on his coming western tour in October. |
