Show DEIEGATES GEPART FOR LEGlCOlCLifE Major Jorgensen to Represent Repre-sent Governor in Organizing Organ-izing Veterans' Society. Major Fred Jorgensen, adjutant-general of the state, left yesterday afternoon after-noon for St. Louis to attend the convention conven-tion of the national guard association the first of next week and the caucus of the American legion on Thursday, Friday Fri-day and Saturday of next week. Major Jorgensen will represent Governor Bamberger Bam-berger at the latter meeting, when preliminary pre-liminary steps will be taken to form a society composed of all men who served in the army, navy or marine corps during dur-ing the European war. Ensign J. Leo Meehan, one of the delegates dele-gates elected at the Utah caucus Thursday Thurs-day night, will leave this afternoon to represent Utah at a preliminary conference confer-ence which will be held in St. Louis on Tuesday and Wednesday, at which plans to be presented to the legion will be discussed. dis-cussed. He will be joined at Ogden by Captain D. E. Rhivers. president of the veterans' organization recently formed in Weber county. Captain Rhivers is also a member of the state delegation. Other Utah delegates to the convention conven-tion of veterans will leave tomorow and Monday, planning to be in St. Louis in time for the opening of the convention on Thursday' morning. Reservations have been made for the Utah delegation at the Statler hotel In St. Louis, where Utah headquarters will be established. |
