The state of Utah hifs a good chance of getting the colors of the 362nd infantry regiment. Serpeant Major Frank L, Davis of Salt Lake this morning turned the banners over to the Fort Russell camp quartermaster, who will forward them to Washington. nnouncement was made today that the state having the greatest representation of men at the time of mobilization at Camp 1-iCwis will be awarded the famous silks. This decision -will bo made by the adjutant general of the army following the arrival of the standards at Washington. Washing-ton. Tho Utah men of the regiment feel that tho award to the Beehive state is now assured, for they feel certain that Utah men outnumbered the others during the formation of the regiment. H will be a few weeks, however, before the final decision is made at Washington. |
