Show BARNS AND CONTENTS DESTROYED BY BLAZE PROVO,- Aur. 30 A fire which consumed con-sumed two barns, one the property of Mrs. A. J. Meldrum, and the other be-lonpins be-lonpins to Mrs. John E. Stein, broke out yesterday afternoon and before the fire department could get its apparatus to working both buildings were practically' burned to the ground. j There were In the Meldrum barn two work horses, harnesses, a mowing machine, ma-chine, a wagon, two buggies, a sulky plow, twenty tons of hay and a number of chickens, all of which were destroyed. While trying to save the animals and other contents of the barn, Frank Meldrum, Mel-drum, son of Mrs. Meldrum, was badly burned about the face and arms. J. E. Welch, county agricultural agent, had a registered Jersey cow in the Stein barn, which Mrs. Welch succeeded in saving, after considerable difficulty. The loss Is estimated at $2500. j |
