Show Musical Comedy Heads Bill at Pantages pOBERT CAPROK, Herbert Broske and Evelin Pockson appear with a bevy of pretty girls in "Perhaps You Are Itlffht," the musical comedy which heads the. Pantaees program this week. Careful selection of scenery lends a lifelike touch to the performance, and there ia sufficient suffi-cient plot to create considerable suspense. Mr. Capron is a comedian of unusual ability abil-ity and the leading characters sing and dance well. The chorus ia artistically attired. at-tired. Us members have abundance of natural physical charms, and they are well trained in the technique of their profession. Ray and Emma Dean in "Tet Me-Alone, Parn You." give a series of songs, jokes and comic dances which cause much amusement and were heartily applauded last night. A repertoire of Italian operatic selections, selec-tions, rendered in the scenes for which the composer intended them, is furnished by the Imperial Quintet. The singers have rich, well-trained voices and render their parts with dramatic expression and technique tech-nique The number will appeal to all lovers of the better class of music and is worthy a headline position, if place on the program is determined by merit. Ventriloquism which produces a pleasing pleas-ing Illusion and, because of the jokes used in the demonstration, also furnishes considerable fun, Is contributed to the evening's program by Ray Conlin and his wooden doll. Florence Rayfield. billed as the "little sunshine girl," gives a program of songs from the better class of popular music which is generally enjoyed. She has a good voice and a pleasing personality. Eccentric and artistic dancing make up the act of the Romanos Sisters. Thrills and suspense are produced by the fifth episode of "Smashing Barriers," the photoplay featuring1 William Duncan In a romance of the great outdoors, and a program of the best in late popular melodies mel-odies is furnished by the Pantages Orchestra, Or-chestra, under the direction of Eddie Fitzpatrick. |
