Show Petrograd Holding Out. , HELSIXGFOKS, Tuesday. Oct. 2S. (By the Associated Press.) lieutenant Col-u:iel Col-u:iel Lest rang IMalone, a Liberal member of the British house of commons, has returned after a daring unofficial visit to Petrograd. He told friends here that lie was convinced after an investigation of the political and military situations of Kussia that it is improbable that Petrograd Petro-grad will fall this winter. He said that reports of dissension among the Bolshevik Bolshe-vik were untrue and that Lenine and Trotzky appeared tu be working in entire en-tire accord. He saw Trotzky review thousands of soldiers who enthusiastically hailed him us "a divine leader." Colonel Malone said that the Bolsheviki asserted that General Gen-eral Denikine had lost the confidence and support of th allies and had reached an understanding with General von der Ooltz and Colonel A valoff-Bermondt, heading the so-called west Russian army composed largely of Germans in the Baltic Bal-tic provinces. Colonel Malone entered Russia from Keval, passing through the Esthonian lines. |
