The Weber county farm bureau is seeking a repeal of tho daylight saving law. The action has been taken by the adoption of resolutions, which have been forwarded to Senator Srr.oot, Senator Kin?, Representative Welling and Representative Mays. The resolutions follow: "Whereas. The farmers of Webr county find the change in time a handi-I handi-I cap to the farmlne industry, because: ! "First It is impossible to prepare and ' deliver farm products on the city markets mar-kets by 7 o'clock, when business houses are open. "Second Many field operations cannot be begun early in the morning because of the excessive amount of dew in some localities, which prohibits the harvesting of crops until they are thoroughly dry. This condition, Instead of lengthening the workday, in reality cuts it one hour , short, because the hired men will not ; work after 6 o'clock; therefore, the work- ing day on the farm is reduced one hour, and at a time which ia most valuable j to the farm. j "Third These conditions force many j farmers to use the old time, which causes confusion; and ' "Whereas, It is our opinion that the j measure was to the advantage of the city j people during the war. because manv , made use of It in the production of food in gardens and in working overtime in other productive lines ; however, since ! the cessation of hostilities of war the city ; people are not as zealous in working j overtime, the result being that very lit- tie. if any, produrtion is really adiled at pr.-sput; ih'-retoro, ),v ii "ii.No!vi-d.
