"Advertising should be 100 per cent salesmanship; it is selling sell-ing through the written word instead of merely through personal contact. For a long time the need for a closer linking link-ing up of advertising and personal salesmanship lias been felt in industrial and commercial circles. Too often, it is claimed, the two have not harmonized harmon-ized as they should. But changing conditions, con-ditions, brought about by the war and more active competition', have called for a combination of the two both phases of a complete merchandising service.
