Show Fourth Service Stripe Soon Due I for Its Debut i i THE fourth service stripe is about due to make its appearance on the left sleeve of war veterans. Three service stripes are all that the oldest soldier In the service can wear now, as the order allowing a stiver or gold service chevron for each period of six months' service gives the starting date as April 6, 1917 the day that America entered the war. On April 6, 1919, every soldier who was in the military service of the United States at that time can add another stripe to his three glistening service chevrons. |
