Show DESERET MOUNTAIN ! WILL mil Mine Official Leaves With Men arid Truck to Start Spring Campaign. i , D. D. McPhc-rson. stiperintenilent of the Deserot llountain Mines company, with lioliliiiffs in the West Tintic district, dis-trict, left Salt Lake yesterday noon for the property, taking with him a force of men and truck to do the work preparatory pre-paratory to an aggressive spring cam-paien. cam-paien. Mr. Mcl'herson's intention is first to place the workings in good shape for accommodation ot an additional force, in preparation for sinking the main working work-ing shaft from its present level of 300 I teet to the water level, regardless of j what dcofh this may require. i. Just; prior to his departure Mr. Mc-I'hetson Mc-I'hetson explained that, while the' shaft of tiie Deseret Mountain had now reached a depth of 300 feet, examination of the ore it this dentil ov tiie oest mining experts the romnanv had been able to secure had led to the belief that at or before the water level was reached, a re-enrichment of the ore would be encountered. en-countered. To. add to this encouragement encourage-ment there is the fact that tiie extent of the ore body has so far grown as depth has been gained. At 127 feet of dopth the ore was twelve feet wide between be-tween walls and ..carried values of 4 per cent cornier, with about 60 cents gold and between three and four ounces in silver. At a dentil of 300 feet the ore had widened to about thirty feet, with strong indications that the product had been leached. It is therefore concluded that when lie witter level is reached nature na-ture "will have in some degree taken care of the concent ration and that the values will be considerably higher. The geologists who have made the examination ex-amination estimate that from 150 to 250 feet additional depth will lie required to gain the water level, but did not attempt at-tempt to make the statement with accuracy, ac-curacy, as the water level has never before be-fore been attained in this section of the district. The Deserot Mountain property, which consists of twelve claims, is located seventeen sev-enteen miles almost directly north of .Lucerne and is well equipped, the company com-pany alreadv having a compressor, air drills, a gasoline hoist and the required builtlings for steady operation. .As soon as the property is placed in condition an adequate force of miners will begin the further sinking of the shaft.
