An advantageous feature Is that the Aspn sands of the cretaceous formation are expose,!, these be inn the deepest of the oil-bearing sands, and, in the opinion of M r. Hurritt, a depth of ijuu feet fdiould prod uce oil of a refining character, charac-ter, with a heavy content of gasoline. The Lincoln -Idaho Oil company, a. ror-poration ror-poration comprised chiefly of Idaho people, peo-ple, is now drilling on sec Hon township town-ship 2 north, nure 11H west. This company com-pany is also drilling in the Slate Creek fieid, a short distance nor t Invest, and in the. Hi J-'lney field, slill further north. In the Slate Creek field, one of the wells is down ."iOij feet, with strong indications of oil now corning in. Only a short time aro Mr. Rurritt made a careful inspection of the Kassil field, in which manv Salt Lake concerns have extensive, holdings. The mining engineer said that the oil from this field was particularly par-ticularly to he recommended as a product for lubricating, and that even a half-barrel well of oil, such as the Mascot company com-pany and the Wood interests had in far larger quantities, was commercially a success, suc-cess, because the oil found a ready market mar-ket around 75 cents per gallon. |
