Show BATHHOUSES SOON TO BE COMPLETED Work on Structure at Lava Hot Springs Is Approved by the Governor. Special to The Tribune. POCATELLO, Idaho, July 24. While at Lava Hot Springs yesterday Governor M. Alexander, pursuant to authority conferred con-ferred upon him by the state land board, withdrew the proposal recently made to the Commercial club of that place whereby where-by the bathhouse at what is known as the upper pool was to be completed with funds raised by private subscription and to be repaid by the state November 1. This action was taken for the reason that it was found that, although this offer on the part of the state was made several months ago, practically no work had been done in the way of constructing the new bathhouse. The state will now confirm the tentative contract entered into by Lava citizens with Contractor E. M, Chandler of this city for the completion of the much-needed structure at the upper up-per pool, which has always been the hot spring most favored by inyalids. Work will be rushed and it is expected that the building will be completed within with-in thirty days. Citizens of Lava are highly high-ly gratified to have the state take over this contract, which was entered into by them in order to avoid delays. While at Lava Governor Alexander also went over the hooks of- the custodian cus-todian of the natfltorium and other state property before leaving for Soda Springs, where he addressed a large audience today to-day at the Bannock county farm bureau picnic. |
