Show BRITISH TROOPS CARRY OUT RAID SOUTH OF BUCQUOY lyONDON, July' 24. Raids were carried out by the British troops last night in the region south of Bucquoy and northwest north-west of Albert, says today's war office report. A few prisoners were taken. A German raid on the British lines northeast north-east of Bethune, on the Flanders front, was repulsed. The statement reads: English troops carried out a successful suc-cessful raid last night south of Bucquoy, Buc-quoy, capturing eighteen prisoners. Our casualties were light. A few prisoners were secured by another of our raiding parties northwest north-west of Albert. A raid attempted by the enemy northeast of Bethune was repulsed. The hostile artillery has been active ac-tive in the northern portion of our front, particularly in the neighborhood neighbor-hood of Locre (a northern side of the Lys salient). |
