Show ROUSING FAREWELL GIVEN TO SOLDIERS Special to The Tribune. j TWIN FALLS. Idaho, June 29. The 1 greatest demonstration ever given here for departing soldiers took place yesterday yester-day in honor of 122 drafted men, who entrained en-trained at the Twin Falls depot last night. Ninety-six of the men were from this county. The line of march extended four or five blocks, with scores of autos going two and three abreast. The sidewalks were packed with hundreds of people and autos were standing at every side street intersection. In the city park 100 women of the local branch of the county Red Cross chapter served luncheon at noon . and dinner at 4:30. The contingent was in charge of David Girdner of this city, whose brother, Charles, wns with the Canadians and was killed in 1916, being the first Twin Falls man killed in the war. Mr. Glrdner's assistant as-sistant was Arthur W. Ostrom of Buhl, a prominent attorney and formerly probate pro-bate judge. |
