Show FATE IN DOUBT. The names of the seventeen American Ameri-can engineers who have been missing since the counter-attack of the Germans Ger-mans at Cambrai have at last been given to the public. Xonc of the victims vic-tims are from this section of the country. coun-try. While it is possible that some of these American soldiers may have been killed iu the shell craters where they sought refuge, it is probable that most if not all of them were taken prisoner by the Germans. Such is the general hope, at any rate. While their fate is in doubt there will be much anxiety upon the part of friends and relatives and they will not be satisfied until the whole truth is known. It is usual in such cases to work through the agency of some neutral government aud we supoose such a course has been followed in the preent in?t ance. |
