Show ROCHESTER REM CONTINUES ACTIVE! Combined Mines Has Put in Pipe Line From Mystic Springs. , Special to The Tribune. T.OVKL.OCKS. Nev.. April 1. During the last week the completion of the pipe line from Mystic springs was one of the important events of tho operation by the Rochester Combined Mines company in the Rochester district. The line has a length of 4200 feet and it will afford an ample supply of water for the compressor and other needs at the property. The additional compressor which was recently ordered has been delivered at the property and work of installing it will be immediately started. This increase in-crease in equipment will permit the operation oper-ation of a number of additional drills in the several tunnels and result in bringing bring-ing the property into the big-producing class in the near future. The N'evuda Valleys Power companv is now engaged in extending- its transmission transmis-sion lines to the Combined proper! v, and electric current for operating compressors and other ma chinery will soon be available, avail-able, trading for (he sub-station Is in progress. It being expected that the work wtll be completed in four or five days. All work underground is progressing at a pace that is entirely satisfactorv to the management, whose watchword is speed and efficiency. Better results are being planned a nd lower working costs I are being worked out for the time when I all the new equipment can be used. I The new workinsr tunnel is being ad-Ivanced ad-Ivanced at the rate of eight feet a day 'and is about 1Fin feet under cover at the end of this week. In the Shepherd No. 1 tunnel the crosscut through the vein has been driven I'oo feet, at an angle of 45 degrees with the strike of the vein, i without iinv footwall having been dis- 1 covered, thus proving one of the largest ore bodies ever found in the state. For 107 feet in the tunnel the ore was a good milling grade, and while lower values were found between there and the 200-foot 200-foot point, ore of a much better grade than any previously found is now being developed. The new tunnel being driven on the Link claim. 1200 feet north from the pur-tal pur-tal of the Shepherd No. 1 tunnel, has encountered en-countered the big vein and in it high-grade high-grade ore has been found. Conditions In this working are very promising for "the discovery of a large tonnage of srood ore when greater denth can he reached |
