Show EUREKA MINES WILL BEGIN SHIPMENTS J . Manager Signs Contract With United States Smelter. It was announced Friday that Jackson C. McChrystal, manager of the Eureka Mines company, operating in the Tintic district, was in the city to make smelter contracts for the handling of the ores from this already proved property. ISo intimation was given at that time as to which of the valley smelters would be awarded the contract, it only being given out that late developments in the mine had resulted in the- opening up below the 1200-foot level of a big body of high-grade ore, carrying silver, lead and copper that approximates $75 per ton In value. Shipments will be begun today. Manager Man-ager McChrystal yesterday signed with the United States Smelting company a contract that gives the United States people peo-ple ''the handling of ores from the Eureka Mines company's property and announced that the shipments would be made "right off the bat." Much high-grade ore has been taken from the upper levels by lessees, but the active and energetic campaign of development develop-ment in opening up the ground at greater depth means that the recent' strike below the 1200 level will be taken advantage of and that the management Is determined to use the opportune period of high-priced metals to place the property on a profit-making profit-making basis without delay. Ore Shipments Released. The Utah Ore Sampling- company yesterday yes-terday reported the relea?e of ore as follows: fol-lows: Utah, 9 cars; Nevada, 4 cars; Idaho, Ida-ho, 2 cars; California, 1 car. |
