The demand was refused and immediately the entire union force was called out. As a result of the walkout the smelter, smel-ter, mills and mine of the Detroit company com-pany are idle. About 10U men engaged in operating the concentrator and lcaclier of the Shannon Copper com-panv. com-panv. near Clifton, walked out yesterday yester-day on a similar rievam-e, and, while the mines and smelter &f the company still are operating, the concentrator and leacher must resume soon, it is said, or ' it will be necessary to close down the remainder of the plant. There was no disorder in the district following the walkout. j |
