Show SEEK SOLUTION OF SOCIAL PROBLEMS Fourth National Conference of Catno-Uc Catno-Uc Charities Begins Sessions Today. WASHINGTON, Sept. 16. Nearly 1000 delegates from all parts of the United States are expected to be here tomorrow when the fourth national conference con-ference of Catholic charities begins its sessions. The conferences are held biennially bi-ennially and their purpose is to discuss dis-cuss means for making Catholic institutions insti-tutions more efficient and capable of solving social problems. Sessions will be held tomorrow night, Monday, Tuesday and Wedneadav, at which addresses will be delivered by men and women prominent in charitable work. In addition to theBe meetings there will fce gatherings of smaller groups at which there will be a general discussion of problems relating to the family, to children and to social and civic activities. j The conference is designed to bring ' about study of standards in the care ; of children in institutions, of home finding find-ing for such children. Care of defective defec-tive and delinquent children will fur- i ni6h a topic for discussion in several , meetings. . Organization of courses of instruction instruc-tion in relief work in cities and of graduate nurses to care for the sick and poor in co-ordination with sisters will be brought to the attention of the conference and emphasis will be laid on the movement towards the prevention preven-tion of dependency. j All sessions will be held at the Catho-, , lie university. j |
