Exploitation of one plan whereby the bankers and business busi-ness men in general can assist in the upbuilding of their community by aiding aid-ing the farmers is contained in a letter recently sent out by the Weber county farm bureau to the bankers of Ogden. The letter, which is the second communication commu-nication of a series to be sent out by the bureau, is as follows: Dear Sir A very advanced stand has boon taken by the hankers of southern Illinois in boosting one phase of agriculture, as evidenced by the following facts: "A fund of $1U,0u0 had been made a working nucleus for the development develop-ment of dairying in southern Illinois. Illi-nois. Twenty-tour pure-bred Hol-stein Hol-stein bulls were purchased tli rough the efforts of the Illinois Hankers' association, and were donated to the use of the farmers. The bulls were placed in different neighborhoods with reliable farmers, for the free ue of those having Holstein cow?. The. Illinois Bankers ' association hopes to have ir.mt success in its initial effort in introducing bettor breeding in a part of the state that has hitlrto paid little heed to the cow. The bankers are advised thnt if interested in-terested in the dairy development of this section or any other branch of Agricultural Agri-cultural development, they are invited to inquire of officers of the farm bureau. |
