Show ENROLLMENT LESS AT GRANITE HIGH But Two Hundred and Eighty-three Students Are Registered at Present. Sixty-seven students less are in attendance at-tendance at the Grauite high, school this voar than last. The mark reached by Granite last vear was 350, while the number having registered for regular school work this year is only 283. Eighty-three students who attended Granite last vear have not registered yet, but it is expected that at least seventy-five of these will be on the books bv the first, of Dext week. Ntanv new faces have, been seen among' the students. Although nn record rec-ord has been kept, it is thought that the record set by last year's freshman enrollment will be exceeded by only a small margin. Yesterdav Louise Hill and William Tipton, literarv editor and business manager of the Granitian, respectively, tendered their resignations. Miss Hill is now enrolled as a student at the East high, Tipton gave as a reason for dropping his department that he wished to enter the university next year aud a ruling of the faculty will not allow him to hold such office. The vacancies will not be filled until un-til next Thursdav. Arthur Gudmund-son, Gudmund-son, managing editor for the paper, is the onlv elected mem,ber of the staff who will remain in office. Tn each case the ones who resigned left their respective re-spective offices only through their desire de-sire to do so. |
