Show JAPANESE WILLING TO FIGHT IN EUROPE M. Pichon Makes Announcement in Petit Journal; Replies to M. Hanataux. (Special Cable br Arranpement With London Dally Telegraph and International News Servlca.) PARIS, Dec. 2(5. Diplomatic "conversations" "con-versations" are actually in progress on the question of bringing the Japanese troops to Europe to fight with the allies, al-lies, according to a statement by Stephen Steph-en Pichon, former minister of foreign affairs, in the Petit Journal today. This announcement was made by M. Pichon in a signed article in that paper in which he criticised the recent statements state-ments of M. Gabriel Hanataux on this subject in the Figaro. M. Pichon says that M. Hanataux is evidently not opposed to Japanese intervention in-tervention as a matter of principle, but simply wishes to postpone it. (But when and why?M asks M. Pichon. The former minister of foreign affairs af-fairs maintains that, contrary to the opinion of M. Hanataux, public opinion: in Japan and the sentiments of Japanese Japan-ese statesmen are not hostile to the idea. They may have been at one time but they are not now. The only difficulties diffi-culties in the way lust now are financial finan-cial and transportation ones. |
