Eio Grande railroad, in line wit) the announcement in The Tribune Ft div morning Official announcement announce-ment that Mr Sweet a appointment oa 1 been re ommended to the board of 1 rectors of the Denver & Rio Grande wa made yesterday It is expected that his appointment will be continued by the board some time next week and in case it is he will assume his new duties January 1 1916 Mr Sweet will be in direct charge of the operation of the Denver Rio Grande and so far as can be asrerta ned will not displace General Manager James Russell Mr Sweet began his railroad career as a clerk in the office of Superintend est Sands of the Las 'V egas division of the Santa Fe. Later he became chief clerk to Mr Mudge who was then dl vision superintendent of the Santa Fe at San Mareial N M and Bince that time he has been closely associated with Mr Mudge on both the Santa Fe and Rock Island railroads. 'When Mr Mudge was mads general superintendent of the Santa Fe at Topeka To-peka Mr Sweet accompanied him. When Mr Mudge became general man ager of the Santa Fe Mr Sweet was appointed his assistant. He then went with Mr Mudge to the Roek Island, f rst as general superintendent and later was promoted to general manager of the second district.
