The b 11 was received by Adolph Matthews, a cement worker in pay ment for serv ces It was refused by a clerk at Smith s grocer store Elev enth South and State streets when ten dered bv Mr Matthews in payment of a bill Mr Matthews then went forth with to pol ce headquarters and was taken from there to the federal bu Id ing where Mr Callaghan informed h m that the proper procedure with the bill would be to turn t over to son e banker fnend and have it sent to Wash ngton for redempt on |
