Show WM SEARCH I0E BY DEPUTY SHERIFF Efforts of E. C. Penrose Rewarded Re-warded When He Arrests Donald Williams. After 6earching five days and "tramping the streets for more than 100 miles," Deputy Sheriff E. C. Penrose Pen-rose yesterday afternoon arrested Donald Don-ald Williams, 42 years of age, an insurance in-surance agent, for an alleged statutory offense, on a complaint made by Mrs. Williams, and took his prisoner to the county jail. Williams was arrested last August, the caso against him then being believed be-lieved to involve the charge of white slavery. After being behind the bars tor several weeks he gave bail in the sum of $1000, Mrs. Williams coming to his rescue and for a time all went well. A few weeks ago Mrs. Williams appeared ap-peared with her husband at the county jail and asked to have him arrestee!, saying that he had thrown at her a ta'malo soaked with catsup and spoiled her waist, but he was not taken into custody that time. Early last week the case pending against Williams upon the statutory charge was called in the district court. Ho failed to appear and a bench warrant war-rant was issued for him. It was this warrant that Deputy Sheriff Penrose held when ho arrested Williams Wil-liams yesterday after his search of five days. When apprehended yesterdav Williams Wil-liams had a four days' "growth of beard and wore glasses, "but," said the officer, of-ficer, "there are two things he cannot can-not disguise, his height and his walk." Williams is six feet four and one-half one-half inches in height and walks with a once-seen never-to-be-forgotten swing. |
