Show STATE STATISTICS DIFFICULT TO GET II. T. Haine-gj commissioner of immigration, immi-gration, labor and statistics for the Ptato of Utah, will make an effort to have a serious handicap to the work of his office removed by action of the legislature during the coming session. Under tho present law, county assessors asses-sors are required to gather statistics on agricultural conditions, the reports to be filed with the commissioner of statistics before Julv 1. Mr. Haines says hat it has been found practically impossible to get results re-sults under the present arrangement, many of the assessors failing to do the work thoroughly, or to do it at all. In the hope of amending conditions he will try to get a bill passed at the next session of the legislature providing provid-ing for the performance of the -work in question under conditions that will make it impossible for it to bo neglected. neg-lected. t |
