Show VALUABLE RELICS FOR DESERET MUSEUM Tho following gifts to the pioneer collection of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers "have boon announced: A pair of brass candle snuffers used bv Mrs. A. S, Gilbert in Kirtland, Ohio, in l'S30, and later brought to Utah and presented pre-sented by Mrs. G. W, Rollins of Miners-nllo, Miners-nllo, Utah, a niece of Mrs. Gilbert. A silk lace mitt (fingerless glove) has come from Zina Y. Card. The glove was formorly the propcrtv of the donor's mother, Zina D. II. Young, -who raised the silk on President Young's silk farm in Forest Dale in tho sixties. Another interesting relic came from Mary E. Gardner of Grant, Idaho. U is a little while-checked, laee-trimmod, hand-made baby bounet. made bv Rc-bocca Rc-bocca Swain Williams for her daughter, daugh-ter, Lucy Eliznj in Warrensville, Ohio, in 1S21. The gift was accompanied by a brief and interesting history of the Williams family. |
