With tho opening open-ing of the Argentine harvest not three weeks off. and with an exportable surplus sur-plus In that country estimated by one authority this afternoon at 140,000.000 bushels, the wheat market today fell a prey to short pollers. Closing prices were ic to Sff 3c lower than last night. Corn finished 3c to ItQlc down, and oats 2jc. Provisions also were lower, at a net decline de-cline from a shade to 15c. Though not vigorously opposed, the shorts in wheat acted with considerable camion and many covered on the weak npots in thn market. Primary receipts were very light, but with this exception the bulk of the day's news was depressing. depress-ing.
