DIx on tho senatorial sen-atorial situation In which he says that "events have demonstrated the Impossibility Impos-sibility of his (Shechan's) election, and advising the Democratic members of the legislature to immediately proceed in the Joint assembly to ballot as your conscience con-science and the will of your constituents may dictate," was received and mode public here tonight. The statement Is addressed to the Democratic Dem-ocratic members of the legislature and In It the governor tells of his unchanged altitude, that he will not Interfere with the legislature In tho choice of a senator, sena-tor, and how he has steadily maintained that pose. "But." he continues, "the present unprecedented un-precedented and divided conditions of the party's councils In regard to the choice of a senator are preventing tho exorcise of the constitutional duty which rests upon the legislature." He adds that he therefore now feels that he may properly advise tho legislature legisla-ture lo end the deadlock. |
