Show LITIGATION EXPECTED BY CALUMET & HECLA Special to The Tribune. BOSTON, March 3. Quincy A. Shaw, president of tho Calumet & Hecla Mining Min-ing company, said today In reply to an Inquiry as to whether or not the present litigation had put an end to tho proposed pro-posed consolidation plan recently announced an-nounced by tho company. "I think It advlsablo In behalf of the various boards of directors of the various vari-ous companies to stale publicly that It was recognized by us from the beginning begin-ning that obstructive l'llgatlon was a more than probable Incident of any attempt at-tempt to secure the advantages Involved In consolidation, and our experience In the past suggested the probable source of such litigation. "We regard It. now that it has developed, devel-oped, merely as an embarrassing Incident, Inci-dent, not as a serious obstacle. The opinion of most of the outside stockholders. stockhold-ers. It seems evident, coincides with our own, and this being the case, we havo no hesitation In proceeding along tho line originally laid down." |
