Show Sim I Bill Amending Capitol Conimis-sion Conimis-sion Law Reported Favor-ably Favor-ably in Senate. BIGGEST MEN IN STATE H WANTED FOR POSITIONS H Plan to Appoint Secretary and Superintendent Outside of Body's Membership. The committee on capltol and capltol grounds reported favorably, Friday, the hill by Senator Marks amending the cnpl-tol cnpl-tol commission law to provide that all members of the commission serve with-out with-out compensation and that the secretarv and superintendent of building and grounds be elected by the board from outside the membership of tlie board. Governor William Spry is desirous of naming the four appointive members of PP the commission from among the biggest PH men In the state, and feels that he will be permit led a wider choice In the mat-ter mat-ter If the two salaried positions under pPI the commission arc filled bv others than jH members of the board. He is of the opinion that the men needed to fill tho PJPJ positions on the board are men whoso ppfl services 'could not be purchased, but who JJH would gladly give their time to assist the state in having the best state house of any state In the union. The appointment of the members of the capltol commission may not be made until after the adjournment of the lcgls-laturc. lcgls-laturc. .The other state appointments arc expected to bo sent to the senate curly next week. The governor has been do-Iaycd do-Iaycd in making his appointments by rea-son rea-son of the fact that there are a number of bills now pending before both houses of tho state legislature affecting tho membership and terms of several of the state boards. |
