Show A FINE ELEVATION. There is no mistake about it, tho elevation of tho proposed new high school building, printed in The Tribune Trib-une yesterday morning, makes a vei'3 fine appearance. Tho frontage shoxvn xvas tho east front, facing Thirteenth East. Wo understand, however, that the west front, facing the city, will be prncticnlly the same. This is as it. should be, because it would not bo well to havo an inferior frontage presented pre-sented to the main view of tho r-i t y . Tho structure as indicnted will be a credit to the cit3' when the building is up, and it can bo assumed with safety that tho interior arrangements are such as will fully conform to the fine appearance of the frontage as shown. Besides the oast frontage, the north side elevation xvas also shown, indicating indi-cating tho depth of Ihe building as the oast, frontage shows the length of it north and south. Tho building is three stories in the clear, with light basements making almost a fourth story. The building will cost a half million dollars to finish. The bond monc3' available for this construction is something some-thing less thau half a million dollars, but tho .building fund at tho disposal of the Board of Education has, tvc presume, considerable surplus, which can be used for aii3 shortage that ma3' occur in the high school building fund proper. ' And now that we have such a fine-looking fine-looking plan to build to, wo trust that tho board xvill spare nothing in interior in-terior finishing, solidity and simplicity being kept in view, to make the building, build-ing, not only of the highest possible utility iu the inside arrangements, but also of fine symmetry and artistic beaut'. Wo believe that the people of Suit Lake Oity will be quite satisfied with this building if it is finished on tho scale that tho outer appearanco would warrant. And this xve trust will be done xvith such regurd to economy as xvill yield the beat and most attractive utility. |
