Priday received word that, the preliminary meeting of representatives repre-sentatives from all the states of the union and the commission on the celebration cele-bration of the fiftieth anniversary of tho battle of Gettysburg in lain- will be held at Harrlshurg on October 13. Smvth a transplanted Pcnnsylvanlan. who is a member of the Grand Armv of the Republic, Re-public, has been named by "the covcrnor to represent Utah at this meeting. The first, day of tho conference, the representatives and the commission will pay their respects to the covernor of the slate of Pennsylvania Then they will go to Gettysburg to go over the scene of the famous battle, spending two davs there. The expense of the state and territorial representatives to this conference, con-ference, except railroad fare, will be paid by tho commission on arrangements for tho celebration.
