Show PATTEN GIVES GOOD ADVICE TO STUDENTS CHICAGO. Sept. 23. James" A. Patten, retired board of trade operator, yesterday yester-day told tho students of Northwestern university how to resist a temptation. Ho said it was by learning bow to say "no". Tho occasion was the first .chapel service ser-vice of tho yoar. "Teach tho boys to say 'no' whllo they aro young," said Mr. Patten. "Many a man baa been lost just becauso ho had never learned In his youth to ay 'no'. My young friends, when you grow older and embark bn the rough seas of life you will ' know of what value lt is to you to be able to say that word 'no. "Just lenrn how to say the word. Spell lt, over and ovor so often that when you really fool tho need It will come to you naturally to say 'no' to all tho evil temptations and vices which beset young manhood In a. large city. "I would also caution the boys to stay out of Chicago, especially at night, when the city is aglow with brilliant lights and attractions to onsnaro tho weak and unsuspecting." |
